Palestinians in Gaza and Israelis in Jerusalem have been reacting to Donald Trump’s new plan for ending the war between Israel and Hamas, announced by the US President and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday.
At a cafe in Jerusalem, two Israelis welcomed the blueprint, but questioned if Hamas would agree to disarm after nearly two years of fighting in Gaza.
Meanwhile, in the besieged Palestinian territory, displaced Gazans asked if their needs had been considered, and raised concerns about Trump’s previously expressed desire to build resorts on the land.
The new proposal, which would see a “board of peace” – headed by Trump – help run a transitional administration in Gaza, has drawn support from leaders in Europe and the Middle East.
